Rodgers Intelligence Group · AI answering + legal intake · law firms
An answering service for law firms that also runs legal intake
A prospective client calls at 7pm about a matter in your practice area. Your phone rings out to voicemail. By morning they have signed the firm that picked up. Rodgers Intelligence Group, based in Denver, builds and runs The Law Firm Intake Line remotely across the United States for firms of 2 to 20 attorneys.
What it costs when it slips
The calls you miss are the cases you lose
- The phone rings after hours and during trial. A voicemail is not a conversation, so the caller dials the next firm.
- Intake takes time you do not have. Capturing the caller, the matter type and the conflict check is a job in itself.
- Live answering is a real monthly line item, and it still hands you a message instead of a booked consult.
What changes
What the intake line does for your firm
Answer Line
24/7 AI phone answering on your firm's own number, so no call to your firm goes unanswered.
Conflict Screen
Conflict-checked intake on every call, so only the matters you handle reach your desk.
Consult Booking
Consults booked straight into the calendar you choose, so a qualified caller becomes a scheduled conversation.
Text-Back and Intake Summary
Missed-call text-back and a written intake summary after every call, so nothing is lost between the call and the consult.

The offer
The Law Firm Intake Line
- The Answer Line. Outcome: no call to your firm goes unanswered. Accepted when test calls to your firm's own number are answered.
- The Conflict Screen. Outcome: only the matters you handle reach your desk. Accepted when every test call runs the conflict-check questions you approved.
- The Consult Booking. Outcome: a qualified caller becomes a scheduled conversation. Accepted when a test consult lands on the calendar you chose.
- The Text-Back. Outcome: a call that slips through is not lost. Accepted when a missed test call returns a text.
- The Intake Summary. Outcome: nothing is lost between the call and the consult. Accepted when every test call leaves a written summary you can read.
- The Acceptance Checklist. Outcome: what correct looks like is written down and checked before go-live. The checklist is kept by your firm.
- The same five parts in every firm. Only the intake script changes with the practice areas you name, and your case management stays yours.
Quoted before work. Expect it to land below the $250 to $2,100 a month that Ruby and Smith.ai publish for live answering.
One-time setup builds your intake script and connects your number and calendar. We test the line on your acceptance checklist before it goes live.
A written acceptance checklist is run on the line before go-live and kept by your firm. If a call is handled wrong, Mike Rodgers owns the fix: we correct the script and rerun the test calls until it is right.
How it works
Three steps, one owner.
01
Review
Start with the $3,500 One-Workflow Review, a fixed-fee diagnostic. It maps one client workflow and returns a readout within ten business days after required access. The readout stands alone and shows what an intake line would replace and what the build would cost. It is yours to use with any vendor or internally, and it is not credited against the build price.
02
Build
We write your intake script with conflict-check questions and connect your number and calendar. You approve the exact answers before launch. The line is tested on four counts before go-live: every call is answered, the conflict-check questions run, the consult lands on the calendar you chose, and the intake summary is written.
03
Launch
The finished deliverable is a live intake line on your firm's own number, owned by your firm. We run test calls with you and fix anything that sounds wrong. You accept it when it passes live test calls with you. Mike Rodgers reviews every build and owns any fix if a call is handled wrong.
See it work
A worked demonstration.
A sample intake from the demonstration line: the caller gives a name and a number, the script runs the conflict questions, and a consult is booked for Thursday at 10. No real caller or firm is shown.
Demonstration, not a client result

Straight answers
What this does and does not promise.
- How much does the intake line cost?
- It is quoted before work, and the quote is set to land below the $250 to $2,100 a month that Ruby and Smith.ai publish for live answering (Ruby and Smith.ai published pricing, 2026-09-24). If you want the full picture first, the One-Workflow Review is a separate $3,500 fixed fee, with a written readout within ten business days after required access.
- How long does it take?
- The One-Workflow Review returns its written readout within ten business days after required access. The build date is agreed in the quote before work starts, and the line goes live only after it passes live test calls with you.
- What is included, and what is not?
- Included: the Answer Line, the Conflict Screen, the Consult Booking, the Text-Back and the Intake Summary on your firm's own number, with the acceptance checklist your firm keeps. Not included: legal advice or human operators. The line captures facts and books the consult, and it does not replace your case management.
- What happens to the caller's information?
- The facts from the call are written into the intake summary after the call, and you see every intake summary. Your firm keeps control of its own matters and decides what happens next. The line captures facts and books the consult.
- What happens when a call is handled wrong?
- You see every intake summary, and the acceptance checklist is yours to keep. If something reads wrong, Mike Rodgers owns the fix: we correct the script and rerun the test calls until it is right.
- Does it give legal advice?
- No. The line captures facts and books the consult. It never advises a caller, and your firm keeps control of its own matters. It does not replace your case management.
- How is this different from a live answering service?
- A live answering service puts people on your phone and meters their minutes, then hands you a message instead of a booked consult. This line answers every call on your firm's own number, runs the conflict-check questions and books the consult onto your calendar. Ruby publishes live answering at $250 to $1,725 a month and Smith.ai publishes virtual reception at $300 to $2,100 a month (Ruby and Smith.ai published pricing, 2026-09-24).
